16 Oct 2023 ↑ Youth Welfare Department in collaboration with District Heritage Society, Gurdaspur arranged a Kathak Dance performance of Ms. Asavari Pawar,(exponent of Lucknow Gharana) the Dancing Jewel of India, under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta, organised by India International Rural Cultural Centre, New Delhi.

The said centre manages various programmes for the exposure of Indian Classical Performing Arts among young generation. In this event, Mr. Arvind Kumar, SDM, Dinanagar graced the occasion as an exceptional guest. Dr. Sushma Gupta, esteemed Principal madam, Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee, Mr. Anil Gupta, Ms. Namita Gupta, Ms. Anju Gupta, Prof. Raj Kumar, Secretary, District Heritage Society, Gurdaspur, Mr. Harmanjeet Singh, Program Officer, Mr. Parminder Singh Saini, District Counsellor welcomed the reputable guests. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Dean, Youth Welfare Department while conducting the stage, presented heartfelt greetings to all the guests. Ms. Asavari’s scintillating performance enlivened with vivid facial expressions enthralled the audience. Mr. Raj Kumar put beams on the diverse initiatives took by Heritage Society. The special guest, Mr. Arvind Kumar commended the programme and inspired everyone to organise such events to make masses acquaint with their heritage.
