To create an awareness about IPR for faculties and students of the
Institution.
To impart training on future endeavors regarding patent filing processes,
procedure of IPR, screen projects, make drafts and file patents to the
competing authority.
To conduct workshops, seminars and training course on IPR.
To promote better understanding of IPR.
To encourage faculty members and students to go patentable works.
Frame and keep updated IPR Policy of the Institution.
Communicate the IPR Policy to the various stakeholders and the Inventors of
the Institution, students in general.
Identify prospective inventions, innovations, Service improvement ideas and
Copy rights.
Study and recommend inventions etc for feasibility of converting to
patents/Copy Rights.
Compensate the Inventors with due reward for encouraging inventions.
To promote technology advancements for improved quality of life and
environment protection.
Strategies
IPR cell shall guide and help the faculty members and students of SICET in
patentability assessment and to apply for various IPRs such as Invention(s),
Designs, Integrated Circuit Layouts and other creative works.
The faculty members /students desirous of filing a patent or for any other
IPR application would be given the necessary advice and guidance by the IPR
cell.
An internal approval from the Principal wherein the names of the
Inventors/Authors shall be mentioned is to be signed by the Principal and
forwarded by the HOD for approval of the Chairman of IPR Cell.
Invention Patent /Trademark and similar documents are to be treated and
maintained confidentially by the IPR Cell.
The IPR cell shall help the inventor in drafting the patent application/ or
any other IPR application and filling of relevant forms.
The draft application along with the relevant forms shall be forwarded to
the concerned agency/authority by the IPR cell.
The IPR Cell shall correspond with the authority/agency and the inventors
on IP matters.
The inventors would be required to cooperate with the IPR cell to expedite
furnishing of information for timely actions since delay would mean payment of
extra fee to the patent office.
Any work sought to be filed by a faculty member and or student(s) arising
out of R&D work done at SICET will be filed in joint names as inventors or
authors while SICET shall be the applicant and owner of Intellectual Property
(IP).
After filing of the application for IP protection, the inventors shall
inform the IPR cell of any further development, if any, in the related R &
D work.
Activities
In collaboration with Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Higher Education Institutions, College organised a seminar on Entrepreneurship Development Through Skills on 4th August, 2023 at 12:00 PM.The event commenced with lighting the sacred lamp. The main speakers for the event were Mr. Samarath Sharma, Consultant, MGNCRE (Ministry of Education) and Mr. Ajay Tanwar, Consultant, MGNCRE (Ministry of Education). Principal Madam gave a floral welcome to the guests. Mr. Samarath while presenting his PPT on the topic Karigari (Skill)and Karobari (Entrepreneurship), talked about the objectives of entrepreneurship and gave a diverse viewpoint on Self Help Group. Mr. Ajay while presenting his PPT on Generating Small Business Customers with Social Media Marketing talked about the use of Social Media for small scale business. Madam Principal spoke about the Skill development in the process of Entrepreneurship, building the vocational and technical training framework as propagated by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The guests visited the soothing ambiance spots Under the scheme Earn While You Learn- Art and Craft Bazaar, Cosmetology Lab, College Boutique, Exhibition Hall, Heritage Hall, College Green Areas and the disposal of Waste Management. They highly appreciated all the things. At the end of the event, the guests were bestowed with College Insignia. Principal Madam lauded the efforts of Ms. Jyoti Saini, Nodal Officer, MGNCRE, Ms. Sangeeta Malhotra, the stage conductor, the teachers of Fashion Designing department and NSS Program Officers.
PG department of Commerce of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College Dinanagar under the ages of IQAC and able guidance of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar organised a seminar on "Intellectual Property Rights" on 1st May 2023.The distinguished speakers were Dr. Poonam Mahajan, head of department of Commerce, Guru Nanak Dev University College, Narot jaimal Singh and Mrs. Sukhjinder kaur Assistant professor, Guru Nanak Dev University College, Sujanpur. Dr. Reena Talwar emphasised that we should be aware of our legal rights regarding our intellectual property. Mrs. Sukhjinder Kaur beautifully explained the difference between patents, copyrights, trademarks, symbols etc and the procedure to get the patent registerd in India. She also told about the fee and the time period for which we can get our patent registered. Dr. Poonam Mahajan laid emphasis on startups that an idea can make an entrepreneur and instead of being the job seeker the youth can be job provider. She motivated the students to generate ideas and become self dependent to make India great India. Dr. Neenu Sharma, head of PG department of Commerce extended vote of thanks to the distinguished speakers. The senior staff members and faculty of Commerce were present during the seminar.
PG department of Computer Science, Science and Commerce organised one day National Webinar on the topic ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ on 27th April,2022. Eminent speakers for this event were Dr. Aparna Maitri Pati, Chief Scientist, Institute of Himalaya Bioresource Technology (CSIR), Dr. Divya Kaushik, Registered Patent Agent, PIC & TISC, Government of India, and Dr. Hardeep Singh, OSD to Vice Chancellor office and Professor, Department of Computer Science, GNDU Amritsar.
PG department of Commerce under aegis of IQAC organised National Webinar on "Intellectual Property Rights" on 14th May 2021. Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal SACCM Ludhiana was keynote addresse. Dr Niti Bhasin from Delhi University and CS Chinar Jethwani were eminent Resource persons. The Webinar was attended by 620 participants from 15 different States of India and was well applauded by all.
National Seminar under CPE on "Intellectual Property Rights" was organized on 9th March 2020. Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, Professor and Associate Dean, at GNDU, RC, Gurdaspur was the Chief Guest, Dr Parminder Kaur, Associate Professor was the Keynote speaker, Dr Rajni Dhingra, Professor at VIPS, New Delhi was the special speaker and Prof. Dr Sanjeev Gupta from Central University Dharamshala was the chairperson.
