03 Feb 2024 ↑ Under the solicitude of Management Secretary Sh. Dharam Indu Gupta Ji and able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat mission, NSS Department celebrated "World Cancer Day" on 3.2.2024. Principal madam welcomed the Resource person Dr. Riya Mahajan and other guests Mrs. Sonia and Mr. Sandeep from City Hospital (EMC) Gurdaspur by presenting them plants with pots.

The Function started with the enlightenment of Vidya Jyoti. The stage coordinator was Prof. Sunita Verma (Nodal officer: Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat) Principal madam told that World Cancer Day is celebrated every year on 4th February. She threw light upon world cancer day theme 2024: Close the Care Gap for  achieving fair and equitable health care that is culturally safe and free of racism. Dr. Riya Mahajan made the students aware about causes, prevention and treatment of cervical cancer and breast cancer. She threw  light upon Human Papilloma virus infection and various  screening tests i.e., Pap smear test etc. She told that cervical cancer is a silent killer and prevention measure is HPV vaccination. She made the students aware about HPV vaccination which can be taken from 9 years till 45 years of the age, two doses before 15 years and 3 doses after 15 years.Principal madam appreciated the efforts of NSS Program officers: Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra, Prof.  Sunita Verma, Dr. Deepak Jyoti, Prof. Jyoti Saini and Dr. Parveen Saini for the successful organisation of the event.Principal madam honoured the guests by presenting them souvenirs having insignia of the college. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Prof.  Randeep, Dr. Sonam Gupta, Dr.  Anjna Malhotra, Dr. Neenu Sharma,  Prof. Sonia, Prof. Poonam, Prof. Kusum, Prof. Meenu Gupta , Prof. Sheilika, Prof. Vandana, Prof. Romya were also present to mark the eminence of the day.
