16 Nov 2022 ↑ Under the ‘*Punjabi Maah 2022*’ being celebrated by the Government of Punjab, a cultural function was organized on 16th November,2022 with the support of Language Department Office, Pathankot and under the gubernation of District Language Officer, Dr. Suresh Mehta, the contribution of Assistant Commissioner General Dr. Sumit Mudh and Principal of Evelin School, Mr. Manjit Mal. Dedicated to the grandsire of Punjabi Drama, Professor Ishwar Chandra Nanda, the ceremony was presided over by Shiromani litterateur, Dr. Anoop Singh. While Deputy Commissioner, Pathankot, Mr. Harbeer Singh attended as the chief guest. The students of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar gave special support in this program. The college students presented the drama ‘Katha Ek Kinnar’ written by Dr. Suresh Mehta and prepared by Mr. Pritpal Singh on the stage in an extremely impressive manner.

This drama, which was well appreciated by the audience, has also secured the first position in the Zonal Youth Festival held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The students of the college also presented Gidda prepared by Ms. Gurpriya Saini, Department of Biotechnology. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chhinna, Head, PG Department of Punjabi, was specially honored for her contribution in writing research book and for the tireless promotion of Punjabi language. Ms. Gurpriya, Ms. Shivali, Ms. Kanika, Ms. Sonia along with the participating students were honoured with Certificates of Commendation. The participants also got the monetary gift of Rs.3100 from the authorities. On reaching the college, Principal Dr. Reena Talwar encouraged the students and the faculty members and congratulated them for their excellent presentation.
