23 Feb 2024 ↑ Under the able patronage of Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee and esteemed Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta, and under the headship of Madam Taljinder, Head, Department of Physical Education organised 'Annual Athletic Meet' on 23rd February, 2024. The programme commenced with the floral welcome of Chief Guest Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak and Guests of Honour, Captain Sunil Gupta Chairman PESCO, Sh. Shamsher Singh, Member, AAP, Dinanagar and Kunwar Ravinder Singh Vicky, General Secretary, Shaheed Sainik Pariwar Suraksha Parishad. Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee and other eminent members of the committee Ms. Namita Gupta, and Mr. Inder Gupta were bestowed with the benevolent greetings.

The event inaugurated by hoisting the flag and releasing colorful balloons by the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, the eminent members of the committee and Principal Madam. The event commenced with the sacred tradition of chanting Ved Mantras. Madam Principal, in her welcome address, stated that games are the indispensable parts which uplift our lives. She was of this determined view that every student must take part in sports activities which boost not only their physical strength but mental abilities. The stately guest, Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak expressed his contentment over the fact that every being of the institution bestowed their level best efforts to fulfill their duties. He gave out his word that Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College will continue to provide best of the opportunities to the sports students. Mr. Shamsher Singh debated on the need of every girl getting educated in every sphere and their participation in sports activities who in turn will make the nation educated. He also appreciated the college education system. Captain Sunil Gupta, Chairman PESCO, also appreciated Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta and faculty members for putting their best endeavours. He also praised college students for the level of discipline and co-operation they portrayed throughout the event. The march past of NCC cadets of different houses Peace, Perfection, Honesty and Courage, patriotic dance and singing, yoga show and group dance were the highlights. Many students actively participated in the various events. The stage anchors for the event were Dr. Neenu Sharma and Dr. Poonam Mahajan. There were many competitions like *Skipping Race, Sack Race, 200 Meters Race, 100 Meters Race, Triple Leg Race, Spoon Lemon Race, Tug of War, etc*.

At the end of the event, the winners got honoured by the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, Mr.  Dharam Indu Gupta along with the Principal Madam. The guests were honoured with mementos. Ms. Taljinder kaur got honoured by Principal mam and guests for her commendable efforts. The student *Naina* of BA final semester was selected as the *Best Athlete*. The college also honoured the students who participated and won laurels in Water game *KHELO INDIA* At this occasion, Sh. Thakur Bhupinder Singh, Sh. Pawan Kumar and Mr. Charanjeet Singh, the Chairman of Gobind Public School Dinanagar, Mr. Manav, Manager, SBI and Mr. Satpal Singh, SBI were also present. The Sports Day event ended with the exhilarated and memorable moments.
