29 Feb 2024 ↑ To pay humble tribute to the departed soul of India's great singer 'Mr. Pankaj Udhas', a program was organized by the Music Department and Post Graduate Department of Hindi under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta on 29th February, 2024.

The program started by welcoming Dr. Sushma Gupta with potted plant under Green Initiative. In her address, Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta said that Mr. Pankaj Udhas has merged into Panchatattva but will remain in everyone's hearts through his songs. Dr. Poonam Mahajan, Head, PG Department of Hindi, in her speech, told the students about the life and works of Mr. Pankaj Udhas while giving information about his famous songs like Chitthi aye hai, Na kajre ki dhar, Ghunghroo toot gaye, Chhupana bhi nahi ata', etc. She added that his demise is an irreparable loss that has befallen on his family as well as  on the film and music world. Taking the program forward, Madam Dilpreet Kaur, Head of the Department of English, sang the song 'Ahista-Ahista' in her melodious voice. Mr. Hitesh Shastri, Head of Music Department, while giving an overview about the life and work field of Pankaj Udhas ji, talked about the importance of literature and music and stated that literature and music are partners. He paid his humble tribute by singing singer Pankaj Udhas ji's famous ghazal 'Chandi Jaisa Rang Hai Tera'. The program concluded by observing silence and paying humble tribute to Pankaj Udhas ji. At this juncture, the faculty of Music and Hindi departments along with Ms. Abhinash Kaur and Ms. Jyoti were present.
