01 Mar 2024 ↑ The students of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar went on an Educational Excursion at Khalsa College and GNDU Amritsar on 1/03/2024 under the patronage of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta and guidance of Dr. Parveen Saini (HOD Department of Chemistry). The students visited various departments of Khalsa College and acquired the knowledge and understanding of different equipments and apparatus in the labs. They also attended a workshop on Optical and Functional Organic Materials, organised by the PG Department of Chemistry in collaboration with Indian institutes of Sciences and enhanced their knowledge regarding the topic of work shop by listening the elaborative lecture of Prof. (Dr.) Udhay Maitra from IISC Bangalore.

After that they visited the PG Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College Amritsar and learned the functioning of different instruments like FTIR and UV-spectrometer. They also attended the lecture of prof.(Dr.)Pushpendu K. Das on the topic- Second Order Non-Linear Optics. After that the  students went to Department of Chemistry, GNDU Amritsar with the permission of Dr. Palwinder Singh, Head Department of Chemistry, Where the students learnt about the operation of high tech. Instruments like TGA, NMR, XRD, Refrectometer, DC, HPLC under the supervision of Dr. Ashwani Sood.The trip inculcated scientific tempor and experiential knowledge among students. The whole event become successful with the able supervision, efforts and guidance of Assistant professors Ms. kanika and Ms.Suchetna (Department of Chemistry) and Ms. Pallvi (Department of Physics).Madam Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta motivated the students and said that these Tc tc knowledge and practical applications of science. Field trips promote critical thinking, nurture the sense of curiosity and make learning more memorable, engaging and relevant. She appreciated the efforts of Science Department.
