
Dr. Sangeeta Sarangal highlighted the critical importance of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance and expressed concern over the threat posed by plastic pollution. She emphasized the need for eco-friendly alternatives and harmonious development with nature. She also appealed to students and citizens to support tree plantation, wildlife conservation, and reduced plastic usage.
Dr. Priyanka Nayar in her talk addressed the role of minerals in modern technologies, including smartphones and space research. She pointed out the rising demand for lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements in the global shift toward clean energy. This demand, she noted, creates environmental and social challenges, particularly in developing countries. She emphasized ethical mining, recycling, and the extraction of valuable minerals from e-waste to support a circular economy.
Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari emphasized the urgent need to raise awareness about biodiversity conservation in today's world, which is grappling with severe environmental degradation. She appreciated the role of such seminars in sensitizing students towards their environmental duties. Dr. Nirankari expressed heartfelt thanks to the expert speakers and honored them with mementos bearing the college insignia.
At the end of the program, all participants pledged to adopt sustainable practices under the “LiFE” (Lifestyle for Environment) mission, committing themselves to biodiversity conservation.
