Divided into three sessions, the event commenced in the College Auditorium, where the esteemed chief guest, Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Honorary Director of ICSSR, Chandigarh, was warmly welcomed. The inaugural session, marked by the solemn lighting of the lamp, set the tone for profound deliberations. Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta in her welcome address deliberated the need of having discussions and awareness on such grave topic. Dr. Satnam Singh Deol, Associate Professor & HoD of the Political Science at GNDU, Amritsar, delivered the inaugural speech focusing on sexual harassment in men and the challenges they face. Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, Prof. & Dean of GNDU Regional Campus, Gurdaspur, served as the keynote speaker, discussing the purification of the mind to prevent such harassment incidents. Guest of Honour, Mrs. Nirmal Pandhi, Director of Sant Baba Hazara Singh Girls College, Nikke Ghuman shed light on the role of laws in curbing such incidents. The chief guest, Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, in his presidential address, lauded the college's initiative in fostering dialogue on this sensitive issue, underscoring the importance of such endeavours. There were many influential delegates from various colleges too.
Technical session-1, chaired by Dr. Nitya Sharma, Deputy Controller Examinations at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala, held in seminar hall, featured resource persons including Dr. Madhu Dhawan, Associate Prof. at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Novelist and Journalist from Jalandhar, Dr. Nitan Sharma, Assistant Prof. at The Law School, University of Jammu.
Technical session-2, chaired by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Lone, Assistant Prof. of Psychology at Lovely Professional University showcased resource persons such as Dr. Kartika Bakshi, President of the International Council of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Research, and Development, Jammu, and Dr. Pawan Kumar, HOD of the Hindi Department at HKMV College Dhariwal. Additionally, there were paper presenters contributing to the enriching discussions. First day of the seminar completed successfully, leaving profound impact on everyone present. Madam Principal along with other members presented shawls and souvenirs to the guests. Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta congratulated everyone for having discussion-cum-seminar on this topic.
