21 Feb 2026 ↑ The Postgraduate Punjabi Department participated in the three-day World Punjabi Conference at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on 21 February 2026 under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari and Committee Managing Secretary Shri Dharam Indu Gupta. During the second day's session, Prof. Karamjit Singh (Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University) announced to organize a conference every year on the topic 'Role of Artificial Intelligence in the field of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat' to promote Punjabi language.

 He decided to establish a center for Punjabi language under the name of poet Surjit Patar. On this occasion, the chief guest of the conference was Mr. Sukhi Bath and besides Prof. Manjinder Singh, Prof. Sarabjinder Singh, Bhai Sahib Bhai Mohinder Singh, S. Kanwarpal Singh Suri, S. Baldev Kang attended and expressed their views. On this occasion, important decisions were taken by experts related to Punjabi language. Three teachers of Punjabi department and M. A. Punjabi students were present in this conference.
