She said that this day is celebrated for providing development opportunities and giving the girls respect and rights in society. The keynote speaker, Prof. Seema Mahant, who is a dietician and social worker, told the students about the importance of a balanced diet and gave information about the nutritional elements in very simple words and inspired them to include a balanced diet in their lifestyle. Club Head and renowned social worker Mrs. Prashansa Gupta gave suggestions to the students to live a stress-free life to maintain their mental health. Mrs. Sunita Sharma, Manager of Classic Salon and Institute, inspired the students to join the path of devotion to attain spiritual strength. Principal Madam informed the students about skill oriented courses and inspired them to acquire proficiency in manual skills so that they can be self-reliant. Under the supervision of Ms. Sonika Gupta, Head of the Department of Fine Arts, the students made and displayed posters dedicated to this day and created awareness. To commemorate this day, Inner Wheel Club, Gurdaspur, gave scholarship to 6 college students belonging to needy families. Madam Principal thanked the Club Head and the team and honoured them with souvenirs.
