03 Oct 2022 ↑ The 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar. October 2 every year is observed as Gandhi Jayanti to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi was at the forefront of the freedom struggle against colonial British rule. Ms. Monica Mahajan, Assistant Professor, Department of History delivered an enlightening speech talking about the life of Mahatma Gandhi, how he used non-violence to run his movements and how he tied the world together. In this celebration, Madam Principal made students along with teachers to swear an oath committing to Mahatma Gandhi’s unwavering belief in ‘Swaraj’ (self-governance) and ‘Ahimsa’ (non-violence). Ms. Neenu Sharma, head, Department of Commerce discoursed about the non-cooperation movement of the greatest apostle of peace and non-violence. The event was a success. Principal Madam commended the efforts of History Department.
