'Teacher Award Ceremony' was organised in the capacious auditorium of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar, under the able patronage of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar. Professor Lakshmikant Chawla, Former Cabinet Minister Punjab,Senior BJP leader graced the occasion as the chief guest. She was welcomed with floral greetings by the Principal and the esteemed members of the management committee, Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Mrs. Namita Gupta, Mrs. Anju Gupta and Mr. Anil Gupta.
The program was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp and chanting of Veda Mantras. During this event, 20 principals and 100 teachers were honored with mementos. Throwing light on the activities of the college,Dr.Reena Talwar assured that She,while accelerating this prestigious institution,will take it to new heights. While conducting the stage, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chhina said that the woman should not forget her sacraments. Principal Jaskaran Singh said that before changing the society, we have to change ourselves. Then only, change can be brought in the society. Principal Rajwinder Kaur said that Shanti Devi College does all-round development along with the education of the girl students. Dr. Upma Mahajan said that in today's changing times, it is necessary to teach the art of living life to the girl students. Sharing her thoughts, Principal Renu Kashyap said that it is necessary to become a human being to move forward in the society, not a machinery. Dr. Poonam Mahajan said that not only education, but also culture has been provided in this institution. Mrs. Veenu said that this institution has not only made her a teacher but has also cultured her. Professor Chawla said that every girl has to fulfill the duty of being the daughter of India. They have to raise their voice against social evils and assure that they will never violate their dignity by blindly imitating western civilization. The students of the college presented cultural programmes. The students passed out from this institutes said that they felt proud to come there. All the staff members of this sacred institution made a special contribution in making this program a success.
