22 Aug 2022 ↑ Sociology department celebrated "World Senior Citizens Day" on August 22,2022 under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Reena Talwar. Each year, August 21 is celebrated as World Senior Citizens’ Day. It is also known as National Senior Citizens’ Day in the United States (US). The day is observed with the intent to highlight the contributions of elderly people in human society and honour them. Senior Citizen Day is all about respecting your elders. It is about honoring those people who have been on this earth longer than we have.

 Getting old is not easy. You have been independent your whole life, and then you feel this being stripped away from you. It can be very difficult to deal with, and that is why we all need to make sure that we are there for our grandparents and older people in general. That’s what this day celebrates, and it’s special to be a part of it. They should not be treated as furniture of house all they deserve is care and love.  

Today, Asst Prof.Sonia Thakur, head, Department of Sociology along with the students visited old age home. The students enjoyed a lot with old age people. They also took eatables and loads of useful things. Everyone enjoyed and seemed full of lives. The elders gave their blessings and laud the efforts of college for organising such a thoughtful event. They  prayed for the progress of the said institution.
