08 Oct 2022 ↑ Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College,Dinanagar is elated to inform that the student, Simran from B.A.Social Studies, who was selected to participate in a programme organised by the Ministry of Education (Department of School Education and Literacy, Department of Higher Education) and Ministry of Youth Welfare and Sports (Department of Youth Affairs) Government of India in coordination with Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracy, Lok Sabha Secretariat, has completed her programme with flying colours. The event was on "Participation of Youth of our country in paying homage to our National Leaders on their Birth Anniversary in the Parliament House." The first programme was scheduled on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri on October 02, 2022. She was invited to take part in this programme in Parliament House for the function of floral tributes to pay homage to our National Leaders in the Central Hall of the Parliament.

Simran won the district level quiz competition organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra and then she expressed her views on Lal Bahadur Shastri by participating in an online debate program. After which, she was selected to pay tribute to the national leaders. At the age of just 17, Simran got the opportunity to stand in the Central Hall of Parliament as a representative of Punjab. 

During her visit to Parliament, she was taken for a study visit to a Chamber of the Parliament House, Parliament museum, Pardhanmantri sangrahalya, National War Memorial and India Gate. She got a chance to witness the aura of remarkable personalities like, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narinder Modi, Mr. Rajnath Singh, Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Piyush Goyal and Mr. Om Birla. She even got mementos. Returning to her academic institution, she was honoured and her victory was celebrated. Madam Principal, Dr. Reena Talwar lauded her victory. The management, the staff members and and the students are proud of her achievement.
