These awards were given to only one Institution per district and it was announced on the occasion of “Earth Day” this year. Approximately 1000 higher Education Institutions participated in the ‘ One District One Green Champion’ awards organised by MGNCRE. Principal Dr Reena Talwar told that In July 2020,college was associated with MGNCRE and SAP committee was formed and registered under the able guidance of Former Principal Mrs. Ratna Sharma. Online workshops in the areas of Swachhta in campus, campus Jal shakti (water conservation in the campus) and Post- Covid-19 Sanitation Plan in and around the college campus was initiated consistently.Swachhta Action Plan(SAP) Committee conducted Swachhta activities and water conservation was done by the tree plantation, rain water harvesting in and around the campus in Dinanagar city. Finally in the report Evaluation sheet for Sanitation practices and Jal Shakti Evaluation sheet were filled for assessment and evaluation of the standards maintained in the campus. On the basis of this report Ministry of Education has recognised Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College Dinanagar as the ‘Green Champion’ in the district of Gurdaspur.Principal Dr Reena Talwar congratulated SAP committee members Mrs. Sangeeta Malhotra, Dr. Sushma Gupta,Mrs. Sunita Verma,Dr. Kulwinder kaur chheena, Mrs. Deepak Jyoti and Mrs. Parveen Saini .
