24 Nov 2023 ↑ Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar, showcased the rich tapestry of Punjabi culture at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, on the occasion of the 54rd Foundation Day on 24th November, 2023. Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta, the talented students participated enthusiastically, earning praise from Chief Guest Dr. Parneet Sachdev (former Principal Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, North West)and other dignitaries. Dr. Parneet Sachdev and Prof. Darshan Singh, former professor, Guru Gobind Singh Department of Religious Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala, delivered insightful lectures on scientific theology, enriching the academic atmosphere.

The heart of the event was the Folklore Exhibition and Competition, where the college portrayed the vivid picture of Punjabi Culture and Heritage. Items like Charkha, Gaggar, Chakki, Chattis, Kunni, Kayi, Dhol, and more were displayed, showcasing the diverse cultural artifacts. The students also engaged the audience with traditional Punjabi folk songs, Tappe, Boliyan, and Ghoriyan.The exhibition featured a myriad of valuable artifacts, including an Old Typewriter, Embroidered clothing, Phulkari, and Sandook . Each item contributed to the narrative of Punjab's rich heritage.

Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, commended the students for their remarkable efforts. Principal Madam expressed gratitude to Madam Hardeep Kaur and all staff members for fostering Punjabi cultural awareness among the youth. The Folk Art Exhibition served as a testament to the college's commitment to preserving and promoting the essence of Punjabi heritage.
