12 Jan 2023 ↑ Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar celebrated *Lohri Festival* under the able patronage of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar on 12th January, 2023 in the college premises. Lohri is a popular mid winter Punjabi folk festival, celebrated on 13th January of every year. In this festival, people light bonfires after the weeks of the rabi season cropping work, socializing around the fire, singing and dancing together as they mark the end of winter and the onset of longer days. Lohri Festival in the premises of this institution commemorated with immense joy and enthusiasm. The students and the staff members lit the bonfire and prayed for the general well-being.

The students sang the traditional Lohri songs. Along with the staff members, Mrs. Navdeep Kaur Gill, Civil Judge (Sr.Division) (CJM), Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Gurdaspur and Mr. Parminder Saini, District Nodal Officer, Gurdaspur graced the occasion with their presence and thoroughly enjoyed the event. At the end of the celebration, all danced to the foot tapping of Punjabi music to the fullest.
