To celebrate “World Environment Day”, workshop on Vermicomposting, Tree Plantation Drive and Chetna Rally were carried out under "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Mission" and under the patronage of Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee, able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta and supervision of Mrs. Sunita Verma, Coordinator.
Principal Madam threw light upon the theme WED 2024: 'Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience'. She discussed about the main problems that the environment is facing currently i.e. global warming, deforestation and the greenhouse effect. She added that planting trees and recycling household wastes can lower the production of carbon dioxide and reduce global warming to some extent.
Mrs. Sunita Verma (HOD, Zoology Department) made the students aware about various Environment Protection Programmes. She said that we should adopt afforestation and reforestation techniques. She added that we must try to minimize our daily consumption of paper, plastics etc., and opt for recycled paper products instead.
Principal Madam appreciated the efforts of Staff and Students of Science department for successful organization of the events.
During the celebration, Dr. Sonam Gupta, Mrs. Sunita Verma, Dr. Anjna Malhotra, Mrs. Sangeeta Malhotra, Dr. Parveen Saini, Dr. Neenu Sharma, Mrs. Rama Kapoor, Mr. Mohit Aggarwal, Ms. Kajal, Ms. Mandeep, Ms. Taljinder were also present to enhance the grace of occasion.
