21 Feb 2024 ↑ PG Department of Punjabi celebrated International Mother Language Day with great pomp and show under the able patronage of Principal, Dr. Sushma Gupta and Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee and the headship of Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chheena, PG Department of Punjabi on 21st February, 2024.

To mark this occasion, an Essay Writing Competition was organised on the Importance of Mother Language. The event was judged by Ms. Rukmani and Ms. Jagdish in which Saloni, Radhika and Savita Saini stood at first, second and third positions respectively. In her address, while felicitating the exceptional event, Madam Principal expressed her viewpoint that we all must be proud of our mother language Punjabi. She added that the day underscores the role of languages in promoting inclusion and achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The teachers of the department while giving an overview on the aspects of the event, stated the motto of celebrating International Mother Language Day which is ‘’to promote the preservation and protection of all languages used by peoples of the world". At the end of the event, the winners were awarded by Principal Madam and staff members.
