01 Oct 2026 ↑ On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, the NSS Department organized a noble initiative of visiting and donating at the Old Age Home, Babri, Gurdaspur on 1st October, 2026.The activity was conducted under the able guidance and encouragement of the Principal, Dr. Sarla Nirankari.

NSS volunteers visited the old age home to extend their support and affection to the elderly residents in the supervision of Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra and Dr. Pooja, programme officers.The volunteers interacted with the senior citizens, listened to their life experiences, and spent quality time with them. The cash amount donated will be utilized for the welfare, medical needs and daily requirements of the inmates. The inmates blessed the students and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the kind gesture.Dr. Sarla Nirankari appreciated the efforts of the NSS department and stated that such activities inculcate the values of compassion, respect, and social responsibility among the students. She emphasized that caring for our elders is our moral duty and the youth must come forward to serve the society.The NSS Program Officer along with volunteers made the event successful. The day concluded with a message of love, care and dignity for all elderly people.
