N.S.S, Pol. Science and History departments of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila college, Dinanagar observed Shaheedi Diwas on 23rd March under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar. On Shaheedi Diwas 2022, as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, teachers and Students presented patriotic speeches and patriotic poems and took Oath also.
The function started with speech by Dr. Reena Talwar. She told that Every year 23rd March is observed as Shaheedi Diwas when Indians commemorate the sacrifices given by freedom fighters: Sukhdev Thapar, Bhagat Singh, and Shivaram Rajguru and other people to gain independence from British rules. She told that we need to follow the path of patriotism shown by these patriots. It is because of the sacrifices of these patriots that we are enjoying the warmth of freedom. She told that this day is being celebrated as youth empowerment.
Mrs Anju (Assistant professor, Deptt. of History) also presented her views and told that freedom fighters will forever be known for their bravery and courage as well as the determination to see India as an Independent country.
N.S.S Volunteers i.e., Shweta, Kashish, Kalpana, Shivani, Nagita, Anjali, Payal, Harpinder , Harshdeep, Parul, Bhumika, Damini, Diksha and Pallavi also presented patriotic speeches and poems.
On this occasion Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chheena administered oath to the staff and students to follow the ideals of freedom fighters and to free the country from corruption. Dr. Sushma Gupta, Mrs. Randeep Dhoot, Mrs. Sunita Verma, Mrs. Deepak Jyoti, Mrs. Jyoti Saini, Ms.Shweta Thakur, Mrs. Sukhpal Kaur and students were present on this occasion.
