Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra explained that National Sports Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand and highlighted the importance of yoga and exercise for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Vibha Sharma in her address explained the importance of yoga, stating its benefits for both physical and mental health. She described yoga as a way of meditation that connects the body and mind with God, emphasizing its practice as a Sadhna. Dr. Sharma provided training on 12 poses of Surya Namaskar to all the volunteers, accompanied by the recitation of mantras for each step, adding a spiritual ambiance to the atmosphere. The volunteers practiced the steps beautifully. Dr. Vibha Sharma appreciated Miss Monika, a student of the Physical Education Department, for her excellent performance while doing Surya Namaskar. She also suggested a few yogasanas to help treat PCOD problems. At the end of the event, Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta, along with Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chheena, Prof. Sunita Verma, Dr. Deepak Jyoti, Dr. Parveen Saini, and Prof. Jyoti Saini, presented a college memento to the resource person.
