Martyrs’ Day’ was celebrated in Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar to commemorate the sacrifices of freedom fighters on 31 January,2022. 30 January is the date observed in the national level as ‘Martyrs’ Day.’ The date was chosen as it marks the assassination of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in 1948, by Nathuram Godse. A pledge to eliminate corruption in the administrative system and drug addiction among youths was taken online by the students of this esteemed institution under the leadership of Mr. Narinder, Head, Department of History, and Ms. Dilpreet Kaur, Head, PG Department of English. 

On this occasion, Madam Principal deliberated the need of qualities like, Courage, non-violence, love, independent thinking, kind heartedness, honesty, humility, compassion, inspiration, empathy, and determination which had been prominent in  Mahatma Gandhi. Keeping their hands on their hearts, everyone vowed to banish the social menaces and to create a Drug Free environment.
