20 Jan 2024 ↑ Its a matter of immense pride that a student Shivani of M.A. Hindi Sem-2nd took part in a competition of "Miss Punjaban" and won the title of Punjaban Mutiyar under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta and Mr. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee. The competiton was organised by Himmat Association, under the chairmanship of Ms. Asha Bhagat. There were total five rounds in the competition. Various candidates from different cities of Punjab such as Gurdaspur, Batala, Amritsar Jalandhar and Kapurthala participated and showcased their talent.

 They were scrutinised on different levels ranging from Punjabi dress to the knowledge of Folk Art, Songs and Dance. Winning all the five rounds with her impressive performance, she became the Punjaban Mutiyar. She got honoured with Trophy as well as with Sagi Phull, Phulkari, Necklace, Purse and Wall Clock. She was felicitated with a goodies hamper by Shasah-Salon at Home, Beauty Supply store. She got an invitation to visit Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchakk’s house. She was bestowed with the amount of ?2100 along with acclamation. Shivani thanked Madam Principal and staff members for giving her this opportunity. Madam Principal appreciated Shivani and the efforts of Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Dean, Youth welfare Department and Dr. Poonam Mahajan, Head, PG Department of Hindi.
