19 Jul 2024 ↑ IQAC Department organised an Orientation Program for the students of 1st semester UG classes under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta on 19th July, 2024. According to the viewpoint of Madam Principal, the Orientation programme is an opportunity to introduce the new students to life at the Institute and facilitate a smooth transition of the new life.

Various information sessions on campus safety, technology, academic resources, student support services, and clubs were held by different staff members. Addressing the new students, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chheena, Dean, Youth Welfare Department emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, cleanliness, discipline, and dedication, while also highlighting the value of following rules, dressing appropriately, and actively participating in clubs and committees. Ms. Sangeeta Malhotra, Head, Department of Home Science warmly welcomed the new students, sharing the college's history, courses, skill-based add-on courses, mentor-mentee program, and buddy group system, setting the tone for a supportive and enriching academic journey. Dr. Parveen Saini, Head, Department of Chemistry, advised students on managing their time effectively, emphasized the importance of practical subjects, and provided information on bus routes to ensure a smooth commute. Ms. Sunita Verma, Head, Department of Zoology informed the students about various scholarship opportunities available to them, elaborating on the eligibility criteria, application process, and benefits of each scholarship, encouraging students to avail themselves of these financial aid opportunities to support their academic pursuits.

At this special occasion, Madam Principal, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur along with other staff members honoured the student of M.A. Punjabi, Kavita, winner of PTC Punjabi Voice of Punjab 13’. 

The orientation program came to a close on an optimistic note, with students feeling inspired, informed, and eager to embark on their academic journey.
