22 Apr 2026 ↑ Eco club and NSS Department in collaboration with Shanti Devi Senior Secondary School, Dinanagar, jointly celebrated Earth Day on 22.4.2026 under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari.The event focused on the 2026 theme, “Planet vs. Plastics,” raising awareness about reducing plastic pollution and protecting the environment.The celebration centered on the Earth Day 2026 theme, "Planet vs. Plastics," which aims to advocate for a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040. This theme was highlighted to create urgent awareness about the health risks of plastics and to promote sustainable, plastic-free practices.

Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari urged students to adopt eco-friendly habits and take responsibility for the planet's future.

The faculty members also shared distinct perspectives to inspire the students:

Mrs. Rama Kapoor encouraged students to lead and participate in hands-on environmental protection activities.

Prof. Sunita Verma emphasized the powerful role youth play in spreading the message of sustainability.

Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra highlighted the urgent need to switch to greener alternatives and eliminate single-use plastics.

Dr. Anjna Malhotra (ANO, NCC) stressed the importance of discipline in waste management and the collective duty to reduce the global plastic footprint.
