28 Feb 2024 ↑ During the Science Carnival (26th February to 3rd March 2024) ,Science Department Celebrated "National Science Day" on 28th February, 2024 under the guidelines of State Nodal Agency: Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, catalyzed and supported by NCSTC, DST, GOI and under the solicitude of Sh. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee and able guidance of Principal Dr. Sushma Gupta, under the supervision of Coordinator Mrs. Sunita Verma. The function started with enlightenment of Vidya Jyoti and floral welcome of Resource person Dr. Rajiv Khosla (HOD, Biotechnology Department, Doaba College, Jalandhar) by Sh. Dharam Indu Gupta and Principal madam.

Principal madam in her welcome address threw light upon the NSD 2024 theme which is 'Indigenous technologies  in Viksit Bharat'. She said that the  made in India approach aims to make India self reliant and reduce its dependence on  imports.Dr. Rajiv Khosla threw light upon various indigenous technologies in Viksit Bharat by giving examples like Chandrayaan 3 , Aditya L1, Truenat Assay for diagnosing tuberculosis, dengue, hepatitis etc,  vaccines innovation,  Aayush wellness centre,  yoga for fitness etc.  He said that to make India atmanirbhar there is a need for holistic education, creativity,  innovation and skill development.Mrs. Sunita Verma told that various days to observe during science carnival are

27th February 2024 : Girls in Science

 28th February 2024 : NSD celebration

 29th February 2024 : Basic Science

  1st March 2024 : New & Emerging Technologies including AI/Machine Learning

   2nd March 2024 : Science with Fun

   3rd March 2024 : Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)

The  department also organised Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Model Making, Poetical Recitation and Declamation competitions.

Principal madam and Sh. Dharam Indu Gupta, Secretary, Managing Committee appreciated the efforts of Science staff and students.They awarded prizes to the winners and also honoured the chief guest by presenting him with shield having insignia of the college. At this occasion, Dr. Sonam Gupta, Mrs. Sunita Verma, Dr. Parveen Saini, Mrs. Sangeeta Malhotra, Mrs. Sonika Gupta, Mrs. Jyoti Saini, Ms. Dilpreet Kaur, Ms. Kajal, Ms. Parul, Ms. Mandeep, Ms. Priya, Mrs. Pallavi, Ms. Jasmine, Mrs. Kanika, Mr. Mohit Aggarwal, Mr. Bharat Mahajan were also present.
