
The program started with lighting of the lamp followed by chanting of Vedic mantras. Under which the screening committee selected the videos of 150 students for the 'District Level Youth Parliament' program. To participate in this program, 335 students of Amritsar, Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts made and uploaded a one-minute video. Out of which a total of 150 participants were selected by the screening committee in the final round. In the next stage of the competition, the selected young participants expressed their views on the topic "One Country, One Election". The time limit for which was fixed at three minutes. The jury was Dr. Paramjit Singh Kalsi, former linguistics officer lecture (Government Senior Secondary School, Taragarh), Dr. Prof. Bharat (Dean, Information and Public Relations, University Institute of Legal Studies Punjab University, Chandigarh), Associate Prof. Dr. Shalu Vyas, (Agriculture Promoter Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar), Head of Department Associate Prof. Dr. Vikrant Jaryan (Agriculture Department, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar), Principal Dr. Evan Kumar Vaidya (Amritsar Law College), Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Secretary Nehru Yuva Kendra Gurdaspur, played the role of the programme very well. Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari motivated the children and said that participating in this programme is a big deal. She said that to move towards success, it is essential to have faith in oneself, after which victory or defeat does not matter and said that such programmes play a very important role in increasing self-confidence and patience in our young generation. Dr. Prof. Bharat, while addressing the students, said that the code of conduct will have to be eradicated from its roots and also said that our former President Ramnath Kovind had formed a committee, under which 80% of the people had supported 'One Nation One Election’. Dr. Prof. Bharat ji also said about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar that the basis of elections given by him to us is the basis on which we are known as the mother of democracy. He said that it is because of our values ??that we are famous all over the world. While addressing the students, Mrs. Sandeep Kaur said that the ultimate goal of life is to accept the good from the bad and to renounce the bad and protect the social and cultural traditions of the country as a civilized citizen of the country.
Dr. Paramjit Singh Kalsi said that we should remain connected to our values ??and perform our duties as Indians. Nodal Officer Prof. Sunita Verma wished the participants all the best for the future and praised everyone for making the program a success. Coordinator Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra said that if we citizens start with 'ourselves' instead of 'we' for serving the country and fulfill our responsibilities towards the country well, then no one will be able to stop India from becoming a golden bird before 2047.
On March 22, participants from different colleges of Amritsar and Pathankot districts and on March 23, participants from different colleges of Gurdaspur district presented their views in front of the jury. The jury selected 10 youth from Amritsar, Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts. The selected participants, screening committee Dr. Anjana Malhotra, Dr. Pooja Kumari, Dr. Dimple Sharma, Mrs. Rukmani and organizing committee Prof. Randeep Dut, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Dr. Neenu Sharma, Dr. Deepak Jyoti, Mrs. Neha Saini, Mr. Arjun Kumar were felicitated during this event. Certificates were also given to the participants of the three districts. The stage was managed by Dr. Neenu Sharma, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Dr. Dimple Sharma, Dr. Pooja Mahajan. Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari felicitated the visiting guests by giving them a memento of the college.
