27 Nov 2021 ↑ Department of History of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar and IQAC, organised a webinar on the topic: ’’Colonialism and Contours of Cultural Resistance: Guru Nanak in Early Twentieth Century Punjabi Poetry’’ on 27th Nov. 2021. The eminent speaker of the event Dr. Jasbir Singh, Asst. Professor, Department of History, Punjab University, Chandigarh presented an insightful depiction on the relevance of Ideals represented in the writings of Guru Nanak Dev ji in the early twentieth century.

 He said, ‘’The cult of modernism have fostered colonised implications in the context of Punjabi poetry’’. He also stated a meticulous account of innumerable examples of cultural resistance. Dr. Reena Talwar expressed her views on the profound preachings of Guru Nank Dev ji and motivated the students to follow the three foremost principles- ‘Naam Japna, Kirat Karna and Vand Chhakna’. Mr. Narinder, the coordinator of this eventful webinar extended his gratitude to the eminent speaker, the organisers and the Department of Computer Science and IT for their untiring efforts.
