Animal Farm, an anti-utopian satire by George Orwell, published in 1945. One of Orwell’s finest works, it is a political fable based on the events of Russia’s Bolshevik revolution and the betrayal of the cause by Joseph Stalin. The said novel is in the curriculum of the Elective English Subject of 3rd semester. Ms. Dilpreet Kaur, Head, Department of English stated the theme of the novel which is Power can induce corruptibility. The book echoes the idea that all power can contain an element of corruptibility. The students thoroughly learned the fact that Animal Farm is a great book to learn about the power of language and how powerful it is when used to control and manipulate.
