25 Jan 2023 ↑ *Chahat of SDAM College bagging the First prize* * A Kavi Sammelan* was organised by *District administration, Gurdaspur in the memoriam of one of the greatest poets of Punjabi literature, Mr. Shiv Kumar Batalvi* at Shiv Kumar Batalvi Auditorium, Batala. In this event, a *Poem Recitation Competition* was organised where students of various colleges of district participated. In this program, under the management of Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Mr. Harbhajan Singh, Minister, Energy and Public Works Department, Punjab was the Chief Guest while Mr. Amansher Singh (Shery Kalsi), MLA, Batal Assembly Constituency was the Special Guest.

 In this occurrence, which is commemorating the finest poet of Punjab, Mr. Shiv Kumar Batalvi, also marking the exceptional eve of 74th Republic Day, Chahat of B.A. 6th semester of Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar bagged the First Prize from the whole district. She with her achievement has radiated the name of her parents, teachers and the institution. She was awarded a commendation certificate and the price money of *Rs. 5100* from all the guests. Madam Principal, Dr. Reena Talwar, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Chheena, Head, Punjabi Department congratulated the accomplishment of Chahat and motivated her to strive success.
