12 Mar 2023 ↑ Under the collaboration with *Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Social Entrepreneurship, Swachtta & Rural Engagement Cell*, the Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing organised a Workshop for Encouraging Women for Entrepreneurship by Handicraft and Designing Skills from 6th to 12th March, 2023, under the able guidance of Dr. Reena Talwar and under the headship of Ms. Jyoti Saini, PG Department of Fashion Designing, & Nodal Officer, MGNCRE to celebrate the womanhood.

The Department formulated the series to celebrate the entrepreneurial skills in the arena of Fashion Designing. On 6th March, Ms. Daljeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Dashmesh Girls College, Mukerian, the Resource Person for the day, trained students in Fashion Illustration Techniques, Texture Techniques and Fabric Rendering Techniques. On 7th March, Ms. Parveen, a Self Entrepreneur and the Resource Person for the day, introduced students with the techniques of Soft Toys Making. On 9th March, Ms. Daljeet Kaur made brilliant CAD lehenga illustration and many other types of embroidery to make students acquainted with the brilliant art of fabric enhancement. On 10th March, Ms. Daljeet Kaur taught students Crochet Techniques- Colorwork Techniques-Mosaic, Stripes, Tapestry, Reversible, Double or Multi-Strand, Overlay Crochet, Corner to Corner (C2C). Owing to her brilliant art, she got honoured by Madam Principal on the same day. On 11th March, Ms. Parveen taught the students, the mesmerising technique of Smoking Cushions. On 13th March, marking the closing ceremony of the workshop, Ms. Parveen got honoured by Principal Madam. The Department also laid a Two Day exhibition of handmade material which students acquired in this week spanned workshop. Principal Madam appreciated the efforts of the department and motivated students to enhance their skills by attending such workshops.
